Join our vibrant community where all disabled people are thriving through participation in sport and recreation.
Benefits include:
Ability to participate in planned regular sports and recreational activities at no or little cost
Funding support for physically disabled young people to attend Halberg Games
Connection with other disabled people and their whānau
Friendship and support in an environment of sport and active recreational activities
Exposure to new sport and recreation activities.
Membership is $20/year per athlete.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Committee for 2025 (or sooner).
Who we are looking for:
All Committee Members should demonstrate a strong passion for disability sport and recreation, as well as possess the following skills and knowledge:
Availability for monthly meetings and attendance at two events per year.
An understanding of the governance of a charitable trust.
The ability to think strategically.
We seek a diverse composition of skills, experience, and networks among our Committee Members.
Currently, we have specific needs for the following roles:
1. Funding / fundraising expert:
Knowledge and experience in writing funding applications and reports.
Ability to seek and facilitate sponsorship arrangements.
General responsibilities:
In addition to role-specific tasks, all Committee Members share responsibilities, including attendance at DSR monthly events and the Committee's Monthly Meetings.

The Disability Sport and Recreation Hawke’s Bay (DSRHB) Committee is dedicated to guiding the direction and actions of our membership organisation.
Our Committee consists of six voluntary members, including the Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.
We are committed to enhancing the lives of disabled people through sport, play, and recreation.
